I am new to the Mac audio recording. I am used to using PC's for doing all my voice work. I have recently been hired to a company that is giving me my dream editing suite.
I also do their video editng so i have picked out a great G5.
My question is this...
Simple enough...
What do i need to do simple voice overs. I have the computer... now I need the Mic and whatever is needed to record to the mac.
If someone could just give me a run down of what I need to hook up a vocal mic to my G5.
Thanks!
For proper quality voiceover recordings you need :
1. a recording booth with good acoustics
2. a quality condenser microphone (for instance http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.neumann.com/infopool/mics/produkte.php?ProdID=u87ai)
3. a quality mic preamp / compressor-preamp combo (for instance http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.focusrite.com/productdetails.asp?id=29&iRange=3)
4. an audio interface with balanced audio inputs (for instance http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.digidesign.com/ although you probably don't need so many inputs) With this unit you also get ProTools LE software which is fantastic for audio recording, editing and post-production.
thanks for you help!
