how long before do they come out? is it true that it maybe more stable?

Apple already did some under the hood changes to cure the first release problems, don't expect some GHz race yet or it'll be just incremental, Apple doesn't change its computers avery 2 weeks.

thanks, I'm trying to resist the temptation of buying one until they workout the bugs(if any) cause this would be my first mac.

Apple discretely worked on the problems of the MacBooks wink.gif There will be the iBook replacement in about 2 months or less. A change in the MacBook pro can happen from that date up to september, usually we know about 2 to 4 weeks before via rumor sites if they can extract something (not necessarily accurate). Also, Apple does not necessarily shout out when they go higher in the frequencies.

I've written a big BS…

The whining problem is still around… to be to the point:

- there's 2 noises involved, a high pitched and le low pitched
- the low pitch can be get rid of either by installing the CHUD tools from the developer's part of OS X and uncheck "nap" in the new processor system preferences OR by having some app running using the CPU OR by using once the internal iSight (last till the next restart).
- The high pitch, which is also in the audio circuit is still a mystery.
- note that all laptops (even PCs) using these CPU are prone to this.
- Our friends of Macbidouille/Hardmac hinted Apple is very aware of the problem and works on a solution, but when will it be available, will it be only software, they don't know.

All macusers with these issues should make them known to Apple and talk about the issue in the Apple support forums, the more persons do it, the faster Apple will be talkative on it.

On the heat issues some have with their macbook pro (getting hot, way too hot) there seems to have been an error in the assembling factory, someone used something like zillion times too much paste for heat conduction out of the CPU and it's baaaad. It's relevant of maintenance by an authorized Apple repair service though not recognized by Apple…

Now, not everyone has these issues, but it's annoying for the affected ones. sad.gif

Rumors and some mistake on the Apple website show that the intel iBook (the MacBook not "
"pro") are about to come in… supposedly next week.

Also, I've found a hint on macbidouille/hardmac linking to http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.sprintpcsinfo.com/content/view/14/1/, worth reading thoroughly to all with macbook pro. The Batteries with number inferior to W8608 are defective. A supplier must have a "great time" now with Apple…

On the thermalgrease case, it seems Apple is aware at least of the thread (it's the non Apple.com one I know in English, there are others, on Apple.com, on macbidouille in french etc.), there's been a "cease and desist" in the thread… Ah lawyers! (a link to the service manual, which is very bad). Now it's sure Apple monitors things and maybe not only the lawyers.

Note, there are users perfectly happy too… rolleyes.gif As we can expect a change in CPU during Q3-Q4, there is some hope this way. blink.gif

http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.osx86project.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=180&Itemid=2 calls for a common action from all macbook users afflicted with the whining and heat problems on the 05/20, by each calling Apple support to complain.

We _Know_ they are aware, it's be _Better_ if they tell us so, and _Do_ something. wink.gif
